When I was ten years old, I wrote messages on scraps of paper because I thought if my brother Ali could find them, he might find me. I never imagined that years later, those messages would become a book, or that I would be standing here in Australia, sharing my story with the world.
This website is a space for me to continue writing—not just about what happened, but about what happens next. It’s a place to share updates about the book, my advocacy work, and the ongoing fight for justice for the Yezidi people.
My brother is still missing. So many of our people are still missing. And the world has moved on.
But I haven’t. And I won’t.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening. And thank you for remembering.
With hope and determination, Amera
